Partowidagdo, Deputy Energy and Mineral
Resource, has died on Saturday when he
was climbing Mount Tambora (2,851 meters) in Dompu, West Nusa Tenggara. One of
provincial spokesman, Moh faozal, said that in the climbing, before his
death, Widjajono decided to get rest
several times in several occasion. He admitted feeling exhausted and fainted;
as a heart attack caused the death. Another
spokesman said that Widjajono had visited the West Nusa Tenggara province to
attend a corn harvest in Dompu regency; then he arranged to climb the Mount
Tambora in indulging his desire of climbing. Widjajono was born in Magelang,
Central Java, and died in Dompu. He left a wife, Nina Septi Triarwati, and a
fifteen-year-old daughter, Kristal Amalia. Before he was inaugurated as one of
deputy energy and mineral resources minister, he was known as a professor at Technology
Institute of Bandung and a member of the National energy Council (DEN). He is a
notable person among the ministers. Everybody knows him as a modest man that can
be seen from his appearance. He often wears denim pants, batik shirts, a ripped
sling bag; and he has long hair. He is also known as a blunt or assertive man.
Widjajono has ever dared to argue that the government should increase the
recent price of subsidized fuel of Rp 4.500 per liter by at least 33 percent to
prevent an overspending of state budget. He is really a controversial thinker
who ever said that Indonesia, a member of the Organization of Petroleum
Exporting Countries (OPEC), is not an oil-rich country. Most people question
how come a well-mannered person like him predeceased other bad-behaved ministers.
That has been being injustice for people who do not believe in fate.
